Portrait of Helen Kagan PhD | Unique Fine & Healing Arts
 Testimonials

...  Helen’s art translates the tunes of hope into a universal language of

mind-blowing colors and vivid imagery.

The deep, multi-layered meaning of each piece is conveyed through the dense texture and intense polyphony

of close and contrasting values that releases a floating, healing aura we

take with us as we walk away.

... The light as the apex of Helen's art is

so strong that it reminds us of the sunshine that breaks through the

closed window of our visions and compels us to finally open it...for self-healing and self-discovery.

Bio

Helen Kagan PhD, a holistic therapist and artist, a creator of her unique concept Healing Arts™, believes that ART is a catalyst for healing individuals, society and environment. Growing up in what then was the USSR - a Communist State where oppression and control were a daily reality, formed her beliefs, values, and a great respect for freedom to express yourself. In 1991 a quest for freedom led her to the US where to she brought a Jewish heritage, a PhD in Science, Master's in Psychology, and an unending thirst to explore life's meaning.

Following her quest Helen studied many healing modalities, and equipped with another Master's in Clinical Social Work she's been "walking the walk' integrating a mind-body-spirit philosophy into her personal and professional life (see also www.NYhealing.com).

Living in VT, WI, MN, NJ, NY and now in Florida, she's spent much of her life in the USA as a holistic therapist, social worker, and now - a healing artist.

Primarily self-taught Helen's been painting for as long as she remembers, since 2005 does it professionally.

She works mainly with oils and acrylics, experimenting with mixed media, paints with pure boldness and emotion always looking for ways to communicate on levels often not yet understood... While reflecting her own colorful and deep perception on life, a desire to bridge the Realities and heal the Past, she believes her artwork can bring well-being and enhance healing process to those in need.

In the last few years Helen participated in over 50 Juried shows, local, national and international exhibitions, was named a "Collectible Artist" by Brickell and Key Biscayne Magazines (2016), “Inspiration” International Catalog (2017),  ArtTourInternational Magazine and “Top60” Masters Award (2017-20). Her “Healing Arts” won awards, shown in many physical and online Galleries, Cities, States, Magazines, Catalogs including FL Design Magazine, FineArt NY Magazine, VT Art Directory, BLINK Art Resource,  major Art Fairs including SPECTRUM ArtBasel Miami, Art SunDiego, ArtEXPO NY, ArtPalmBeach, and always elicited a deep profound positive response.  Dr. Kagan believes in the healing power of art, and that her HealingArts™ as a holistic vehicle can enhance healing and well-being.

Helen believes in the mind-body-spirit connection. She believes that now more than ever, World needs the positive energy and spiritually-based intentions, beliefs and values. These beliefs encompass her dream she's been following all these years - a dream of developing Healing Arts Centers to reach people from different cultures, races and ethnic backgrounds, and fill them up with Healing art. She believes her vibrant passionate art can make a difference in people’s lives.

Artist Statement

I believe art heals.

For many of us, creatives, art is a spiritual path, a transformational process, a way of being. My unique platform HealingArts™ - a pioneering concept, technique and style - is my unconventional way to integrate Fine Art, Expressive Arts, and the Art of Healing.

By awakening senses, remembering good memories, feelings, energies, and thoughts through positively charged intention, healing frequencies of color, embedded spiritual messages, and energetically balanced composition I offer a person to tap into their own Source to allow healing to take place.

My art is not just viewed but experienced.  A viewer is invited to experience not only an artistic enigma and mastery, but – to embrace a positive aura of my compositions, to have their own spiritual experience and profound realization(s) while feeling energized

and/or relaxed and enlightened.

I believe my vibrant colorful and passionate “Healing Arts” can make a difference in people’s lives.

As a therapist and artist I believe that tragedy, pain and trauma can be healed with beauty, love, positive energy, spirituality and self- expression  (see also www.NYhealing.com).  My intention is to create a substantial body of Healing Art to serve people and communities in need. I envision my artwork to be placed in Hospitals, Medical Centers, Rehabilitation and Multicultural Centers, Behavioral, Crisis Centers, and alike - to enhance healing and to serve as a vehicle for well-being.

My art is better experienced “in-person” due to live vibrations of bright colors, heavy textures, large size, and just an overall charisma and liveliness. My work is mainly influenced by impressionism, and expressionism. My canvases are varied, vibrant, some are raw, some refined, all - intuitive. There are domes, bridges to the past, cities in the rain, mementos, fields of sunflowers, and recently - I am creating more and more of abstract expressionistic spiritually enhanced and often  channeled works...  The common themes always present in my paintings are - being on your Journey, going towards the Light,  self-reflection, awareness of 'Here and Now', and of course - 'j'oie de vivre'!

Each generation creates new ideas, paradigms and art forms. I believe my 'Healing Arts' as a powerful form of self-expression, enhances healing and promotes well-being in a viewer.

I believe in the inter-connectedness of physical, mental and spiritual. I believe art is a catalyst for healing individuals, society and the environment. I continue to follow my dream by sharing my unique art and my personal Journey of hope through my “HealingArts”.

And my passionate vibrant Art is a statement of all my beliefs.
